Subject: My first Phil and Friends show

Phil's band had it dialed in right from the beginning - the brave chivalry of "Celebration", the crazy deconstruction during S>F, the continuous "Tears of a Clown" motif they tease throughout (remember how Bruce used to do that with Dark Star, circa '91?)....it's all great. Love the way St. Stephen sounds here as well, so funky...but the real jaw-dropper here is the mathematical precision of Viola Lee Blues - :::::woah, nellie::::: - this is a Frankenstein's monster electrified, folks!
Beautiful music. It really does make you wonder where the Dead could have been in 2001 had Jer survived.
